Ignatius is one of the two very powerful Guardians of the Childe. As a rare male Celosian, by anyone else's accord he should be with his clan, living a life of pampered leisure. Ignatius however chose the celibate life of a Priest of Et'Vori, exchanging a future of wealth and luxury for one of knowledge and raw power.

And what power it is. Ignatius' immense skill in manipulating arcane fire, fire that casts no heat and burns not only material, but also the very energy of the earth, quickly caught the attention of his superiors. When the time of the new Childe came, Ignatius was unanimously chosen as the First Guardian. As such, his life is tied with the Childe's, until the time of her Sacrifice when he and Khilara, should they survive the breaking of their Bond, will be exiled from the Clan.
