Born to a third generation Masombrian mother, Talus Draakenban, is noted as much for his appearance as he is his martial and psionic abilities. His body is covered in multiple serrated bone growths, stemming from his extensive heritage within the Masombrian clan. The growths are dangerous, literally being organic weapons, and this fact has greatly impacted Talus' romantic inclinations.

Because of this, Talus threw himself into his studies of martial aspects, mastering multiple forms by the time he had graduated secondary school. By also being a defensive psion since birth, and the subsequent training involved and mastery of his abilities, Talus decided to use his talents for the better of others, and joined the K'Tri Military Alliance. He was placed in the elite psionic division and was paired with Kenneth Ferrall, whose offensive abilities were a perfect complement to his own. They formed an inseparable bond, eventually becoming psionically Joined, and even once Kenneth bypassed him in rank, the two remained friends of the deepest order.

The only other individual Talus feels as strongly for is his adopted son, Aiden. He adopted the boy at a very young age, after visiting an orphanage during a mission, and recognizing the psionic talent in the child. Talus stepped back from his military duties, operating as more of reconnaissance soldier than frontline, so as to raise Aiden properly. However, now that Aiden has grown and decided to follow in his father's footsteps, Talus is once again taking a more active role in the military, but has also decided to pursue investigation into his own heritage.
