Teo Windrider is one of the most beloved and yet feared kings in the Atalyan Clan's history. His early years were filled with the typical dredge of nobility: excellent schooling, vast banquets, supposed cover-ups and conspiracies. While still a young man, Teo married his betrothed, Alera Mourningspring, and together they had two beautiful children, princesses Nadira and Miria. Unfortunately Nadira inherited the latent psionic abilities that long since plagued the Windrider line, and so the future crown position passed to her sister, Miria.

Teo was not often a part of his children's early life, as his duty as the King of the most powerful of K'Tri clans often took precedence. This all changed however, when a merciless epidemic swept through the Atalyan clan, claiming the lives of almost a quarter of its individuals, including its Queen, Alera. After the dead were buried and the time of mourning had passed, Teo became a very active force in his daughter's lives, and one, if not both, could always be found at his side.

Years later, tragedy struck once again with the brutal slaying of Nadira. Heartbroken and deeply angry, Teo once again threw himself into his kingship, and began the reinforcement of military outposts as well as restoring ancient laws allowing the interrogation and execution of military hostages, actions that have intensely divided the Atalyan clan.

Teo's relationship with his family was not subjected to the same irreparable damage as his clan's was. He still maintains strong bonds with his surviving daughter, Miria, as well as her husband Kenneth and their two children, Adaf and Tara. Teo's relationship with Naiomi, his granddaughter from Nadira and her bondmate Thaddeus Sorrowsong, is not as secure, as he fears the power of her psionic abilities.
